Colored version! ^^

A gifty that I'm planning on sending out to Shin sometime after I finish the other two pics that go with it. I did this on poster board then cropped it so it would be able to scan with the scanner, but I cropped as much as I could and some of it was alil cut off X: But I've wanted to draw nailmus for awhile since the Avian contest but was never able to finish my entries so I scraped them.

Ref'ed the body and such from Nailmus' ref sheet, couldn't position the body right so yea X: Not sure if I'll leave it with a white bg or cut it out with a thin white border around it, depends.

Thought about posting the inked version...but nahh

Figured out what I'm going to do with the white area, and once I finish that aswell the other two pics, I'll send those out ^^

Scanner once more destoyed the colors.... bloody thing *gives the scanner a kick*

ahh, now I see, Love It! the construction and anatomy is great, curious, what materials did you use?

probaly just personal preferences, maybe a slightly higher constrast on the shading? at least for some parts.

I used these:
0.7 mechanical pencil
0.7 Permenent sharpie pen
copic markers

:\ can't really do much about the shading, I don't have all the colors and these markers were old, so I had to use what was available.

that I totally get, I was actually out of work for a few weeks hunting for art pens, and I couldn't continue some of my work because I wanted to ink them, but I found them now! yay!

well, I'm sure you can find them! good luck! I guess I'm just more use to having a high black and white constrast that really brings it out too much.

Yea, but with these pens they're not like Dewrent or anything X: I order them from Blickart or the Copic site, where they are imported from Japan and run about $3-5 per marker.

hmmmmmmmmm. *thinking deeply*, got taste there! i understand the expenses, had to buy my own set, it was about $22 for 7 pens, its quite an expensive hobby we have, almost tempted my mom into some of the materials, saying "want to share a studio?"

but I go for local supplies, like your JoAnns or Micheals. But I think i'm gonna check out the sites you're talking about.

Yea, they're pretty good and you can remove the tips and refill the marker instead of needing to buy new markers over and over again. And they're permenent as well. I go to Michaels usually, and buy the derwert markers if need be.

dickblick.com is a good art site, has alot of stuff on sale.
